Classroom Remodel - Design Wall Completed!

Before Picture
I am so excited that I have been able to get my design wall up! Here are some pictures.

This little elephant is so cute on a vintage white shelf I hung next to my design wall.  The trees are to get me into the Holiday spirit!

Here is a cute little repurposed piano bench under the cute vintage shelf.  The pillow and quilts are of my own design.

Here is the view of my design wall with the wonderful curtains.  This is so I can cover it if I do not want the littles to touch my designs.  The blue on the walls is the same color that I have painted the outside of the front of my building.

Here is my design wall up close.  Look at the gorgeous purple fabric.  It is new by Anna Maria Horner.  The wall is made of fiber ceiling tiles covered with flannel backed tablecloths.  This makes for a very inexpensive and great design wall.  Fabric will stick to the flannel and the boards can also be pinned into.  It is held on the wall with heavy duty glue!  A great project I am very pleased with!

First Project - Classroom and Studio Remodel

Creating my Dream Studio! Step 1 - Analyzing and Dreams

I am very excited about my first project for my blog.  I am going to remodel the classroom space of my studio.  I have always wanted a great space that has plenty of storage and a clean vibe.  I think the clean part is the hardest.  I am a hoarder.  You can see by my before pictures.

Back door of Studio.  West face of building.

South wall- I have great book cases and huge table on wheels.  Great start.
Just need to minimize the stuff.

Another shot of the back wall.  Some water damage that needs to be fixed.  Great windows.  Would like to add some blinds or curtains for in the summer.  The windows are up very high so I need to figure out how to make these curtains or shades slide open easily.

East wall - I would like to create a design wall here.  You can also see my great $1 turquoise chairs.
I definitely want to keep these.

This is the custom framing area of the studio.  The west wall.  I hope that this will include a staircase or ladder to the loft above that I use as storage as well as a wall for my quilts to hang in gallery style.

Here are some pictures of inspiration.

I would love spaces like all of these studios.

I have the bookcases.  Now I just need the great baskets.  I have an idea how to make some really cheap.  Keep watching the blog for the how to.

I love the small cubbies for thread.  Not sure I will do this but I love the idea.

Beautiful.  Thinking of something like this in the custom framing area.

I have always pined for a washer and dryer in my studio.  Maybe with this remodel.

Pins & Needles Studio in Raleigh, NC.  I love the color and the lights.

This would be great for all my classes.  I am thinking of this for type of area on the south wall.

I love the string lights.  I use my classroom for parties and think this would be a great addition.

So as you can see I have a lot of ideas, dreams and inspiration.  I look forward to making all of these a reality through my remodel. I am on a tight budget so upcycling will be a must.  Stay tuned for the upcoming projects!  Have any great ideas?  Let me know.
